Doi Inthanon at dawn

Rented a motorbike and left Chiang Mai at 4am to catch sunrise at the peak of Doi Inthanon — Thailand's highest mountain at 2,565m. By the time I was above 1,500m, my fingers had gone completely numb. Then the clouds parted.

The valley below was a white sea of cloud, with just the tips of limestone peaks poking through. I had the viewpoint entirely to myself for about twenty minutes before the tour buses arrived.
