Luang Prabang — time standing still

Luang Prabang exists in a different timezone from the rest of the world — not geographically, but existentially. The Mekong slides past at the end of every lane. Monks in saffron robes walk silently at 5:30am collecting alms. The whole town smells of frangipani and incense.

I stayed four days, intending to stay two. Some places have gravity.
