Ninh Binh

Ninh Binh is called the cradle of Vietnamese civilization because the first kings resided here some 1000 years ago. Embedded in Lime stone mountains, only reachable by boat, their palaces and fortresses were impregnable.

I rented a bike a and tried to circumvent the highly touristified boat tours.

Found some ping pong players. Despite being shredded after 70km in the heat, still played. Returned the next day, but they still had me for breakfast.

Next day in the evening, wandering through the beautifully illuminated old town of Hoa Lu.
